Best Rooftop Bars & Sky Lounges in Seoul 2026: Views Worth Every Won

Seoul at night is one of the great city views in Asia — mountains ringing the skyline, the Han River cutting a wide arc through the city, Namsan Tower lit up above everything. The best way to take it all in is from above. Seoul has rooftop bars at every price point: sky-high hotel lounges starting at ₩30,000 a drink, mid-range Itaewon terraces with Namsan views for ₩15,000, and neighborhood rooftop cafés where a beer costs ₩6,000 and the view is just as good. Here's where to go, organized by what you're willing to spend.
Sky-High Hotel Lounges
STAY LOUNGE — Signiel Seoul (76F, 123-Story Lotte World Tower)
Floor: 76F of 123F total — highest bar in Seoul Address: 300 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul Getting there: Jamsil Station (Lines 2/8), Exit 1 → connected underground
The tallest bar in Korea. Signiel occupies floors 76–101 of the Lotte World Tower — South Korea's tallest building and the fifth tallest in the world at the time of writing. STAY LOUNGE sits at the 76th floor with floor-to-ceiling glass facing east: the Han River below, the mountains beyond, and on clear days an uninterrupted skyline in every direction.
What to order: Korean-influenced cocktails and an extensive whiskey selection. Budget ₩28,000–45,000 per drink. Bar snacks and light bites available.
Dress code: Smart casual minimum. Sportswear, flip flops, and sleeveless shirts will be turned away at the door.
Reservation: Required on Friday and Saturday. Book via the Lotte Hotel website or by phone. Weekday walk-ins are usually possible but call ahead to confirm.
Best for: Special occasions, first-time visitors who want to see Seoul from the top, or ticking off the highest-bar-in-Korea experience.
THE BAR — Grand Hyatt Seoul (Namsan Hillside Position)
Address: 322 Sowol-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul Getting there: Itaewon Station (Line 6), Exit 3 → hotel shuttle or 15-min uphill walk
The Grand Hyatt sits on the Namsan hillside, which gives its terrace bar a genuine elevation advantage without needing to be on a high floor. The city spreads out below in all directions — central Seoul, Namsan Tower directly above, and the Han River visible in the distance. The outdoor terrace comes into its own at sunset, when the view transitions from golden-hour city to full night skyline over 20–30 minutes.
Price range: ₩18,000–28,000 per drink.
Best time: Arrive 30–40 minutes before sunset and stay through the transition. Spring (cherry blossoms on the hillside) and autumn (clear skies, foliage) are the best seasons.
SKY LOUNGE — JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square (34F Rooftop)
Address: 279 Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul Getting there: Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (Lines 2/4/5), Exit 1
A 34-floor rooftop overlooking DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) — the Zaha Hadid-designed building glows white-silver at night and becomes the visual anchor of this view. The rooftop pool bar operates in summer; the enclosed lounge stays open year-round.
Best for: Design and architecture enthusiasts; DDP at night is genuinely spectacular from above.
Itaewon: Night View Bars with Namsan Backdrop
Itaewon's hillside geography — rising from the main street toward Namsan on one side and toward Hannam on the other — gives its rooftop bars a natural elevation advantage. The Namsan Tower framing the view above is a consistent visual element throughout this neighborhood.
Casa Corona (카사 코로나) — Itaewon Rooftop
Address: Near Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu Getting there: Itaewon Station (Line 6), Exit 1 → 5-minute walk
An open-air rooftop terrace with a relaxed, tropical-leaning aesthetic — as the name suggests, beer-forward with a wide selection of Corona variants and cocktails. The Namsan Tower view from the terrace is one of the more photogenic in the area. No dress code, no reservation required.
Price range: ₩8,000–15,000. Casual crowd, good for groups.
Best time: Summer evenings when the open-air terrace is at full capacity.
The Finest Lounge — Itaewon
Address: Itaewon area, Yongsan-gu Getting there: Itaewon Station (Line 6), Exit 2 → short walk
A more polished cocktail-focused rooftop compared to the casual Itaewon strip bars. The interior is dark and deliberately curated — the emphasis is on the drink menu rather than the scene. The terrace opens toward Namsan, giving the view a consistent backdrop across seasons.
Price range: ₩14,000–22,000 per cocktail. The menu changes seasonally.
Best for: Cocktail drinkers who want the Itaewon location with a quieter atmosphere.
Vault (볼트) — Itaewon
Address: 248-7 Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu Getting there: Itaewon Station (Line 6), Exit 1 → 5-minute walk
A multi-level bar with rooftop terrace — more volume and energy than the cocktail-focused spots, with a strong craft beer selection and a mixed international crowd that reflects the neighborhood's character. Loud, sociable, and good for groups who want the Itaewon nightlife energy from above.
Price range: ₩8,000–15,000. No dress code. Walk-in only.
Best time: Thursday–Saturday from 9pm onwards.
Southside Parlor — Noksapyeong (Quiet Itaewon End)
Address: Noksapyeong area, Yongsan-gu Getting there: Noksapyeong Station (Line 6), Exit 2 → 5-minute walk
The Noksapyeong end of the Itaewon area has a different character — quieter, more residential, with the low rooftops of the neighborhood giving views that feel intimate rather than dramatic. Southside Parlor is a well-regarded cocktail bar here with rooftop seating. The Namsan Tower visible above the roofline in this location creates an unusually composed view.
Price range: ₩12,000–20,000 per cocktail. Seasonal menu.
Accessible Terraces: Myeongdong & Seongsu
FLOATING ROOFTOP BAR — L7 Hotel Myeongdong (명동 L7 호텔)
Floor: Rooftop level Address: 199 Myeongdong-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul Getting there: Myeongdong Station (Line 4), Exit 5 → 5-minute walk
For travelers staying in Myeongdong or the city center area, L7's rooftop bar offers Namsan Tower views at a significantly lower price point than the grand hotel lounges — and without a dress code or reservation requirement. The rooftop is open-air and accessible from the hotel lobby. Non-hotel guests are welcome.
Price range: ₩10,000–18,000 per drink.
Why it works: Myeongdong location means it's walkable from most central Seoul hotels. The Namsan view is strong, the price is reasonable, and there's no barrier to entry. The practical choice for travelers who want a rooftop drink without planning ahead.
Seongsu Rooftop Cafés — Seongsu-dong (성수동)
Area: Seongsu-dong, multiple venues Getting there: Seongsu Station (Line 2), Exit 3 or 4
Seongsu's converted industrial buildings have produced some of Seoul's most photographed rooftop spaces — the neighborhood's low-rise skyline means that even a 3–4 story building gives clean views across the district toward Bukhansan in the distance and the Han River nearby. Onion Seongsu (rooftop seating on a converted factory building) is the most-visited; several unnamed spaces on the Seongsu strip offer similar experiences.
Price range: ₩6,000–11,000. Café hours rather than bar hours — most close by 10pm.
Best for: Afternoon visits and Instagram content. The rooftop-level view of other converted factory buildings in the neighborhood is a distinctive Seoul aesthetic unavailable anywhere else.
COEX Skyline Terrace — Gangnam
Address: 513 Yeongdong-daero, Gangnam-gu Getting there: Samseong Station (Line 2), Exit 5 or 6
An outdoor terrace connected to the COEX complex, looking out over Teheran-ro — Seoul's main business corridor lined with glass towers. More of an urban terrace than a dedicated bar, but drinks are available and the Gangnam skyline at night — glass towers, wide boulevard, the steady flow of traffic — is a strong visual backdrop that's distinct from every other rooftop view in the city.
Free Rooftop Views Worth Knowing
Namsan Summit (남산 팔각정)
Entry: Free (with cable car ride or hike) Getting there: Myeongdong Cable Car or hiking trails from Huam-dong / Sogong-dong
The octagonal pavilion at Namsan's summit gives a 360° view of Seoul that rivals anything available in the paid venues — and it costs nothing beyond the cable car fare (₩12,000 return). Convenience stores at the cable car base sell drinks to carry up. The view from Namsan is the reference point against which every other Seoul view is measured.
Tip: Go at dusk. The city-to-night transition from Namsan is exceptional.
Han River Parks (한강공원)
Best spots: Banpo Hangang Park, Yeouido Hangang Park, Mangwon Hangang Park Getting there: Banpo Station, Yeouinaru Station, or Mangwon Station
Buying a canned drink from a convenience store and sitting on the Han River banks as the city lights reflect off the water is one of Seoul's genuinely great free experiences. The Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain runs on a schedule in spring and autumn — the coordinated water jets and colored lights make an effective visual focal point from the riverbank.
Seasonal Guide
Spring (April–May): Hotel terraces at their best. Cherry blossoms on the Namsan hillside are visible from the Grand Hyatt terrace. Clear skies improve long-range views from Signiel. Best overall season for outdoor rooftops.
Summer (June–August): Rooftop pool bars (JW Marriott) peak in July–August. Heat and humidity make enclosed lounges more comfortable after 10pm. Casa Corona and Vault benefit from the summer outdoor energy.
Autumn (September–November): Clearest skies of the year. Long-range views from Signiel and Namsan are sharpest in October. The Grand Hyatt hillside position shows autumn foliage well.
Winter (December–February): Most outdoor terraces reduce service or close. Signiel STAY Lounge, Grand Hyatt bar, and L7 Floating all operate year-round in their indoor configurations.
